Edson & District Public Library Receives Generous Donation from Tourmaline

EDSON, AB – March 4, 2024 – The Edson & District Public Library is excited to announce that it has received a $10,000 grant from Tourmaline in support of their Furniture Fundraising Drive.

“Tourmaline is proud to call communities like Edson home” said Jeff Lawson, Foreman with Tourmaline when he presented the donation to the library on March 4, 2024.

“Thank you, Tourmaline! With this generous donation, we will be able to purchase some of the lower bookshelves needed for our new spaces” said Robin Corser, Library Board Chair. “We are very grateful for the support that we have received from our community towards our efforts to increase accessibility and revitalize our library”.

The library is currently fundraising to furnish the new spaces in the renovated and expanded building that will include a larger children’s area, dedicated teen zone and quiet room. “We expect to reopen in our former location at 4726 8th Avenue in June and this $10,000 donation is a large and much appreciated step towards our goal of raising $250,000. We are very grateful for the generosity of Tourmaline and their support of our library,” said Robin.
