Edson and District Public Library – Soft Opening
Edson, Alberta, Aug 15, 2024 – The Edson & District Public Library is now open its doors to the public.
Today, the library is holding a soft opening as we work on bringing regular programing back online. A grand opening celebration will be scheduled in the coming months.
Come down to the library today and Friday from 10am to 6pm to see the renovation and to check out all we have to offer. The facility will be closed this Saturday. Temporary hours for the remainder of August will be Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm and Saturday from 12pm to 5pm.
This $3.7 million renovation project was a joint effort between the Province of Alberta, Town of Edson, Yellowhead County, and the Town of Edson Library Board through various grants and funding.
We’re also celebrating the official unveiling of our new library sponsorship. Our facility is now sponsored by Peyto Exploration & Development Corp. and will be recognized as ‘The Edson & District Public Library – Presented by Peyto Exploration & Development Corp.’ Peyto have been a great corporate partner, and we thank them for their community support in this facility and throughout the community.
