Town of Edson Mayor Kevin Zahara hosted his 3rd Annual 'Charity Golf Tournament' at the Edson Golf Club on Friday, August 23, 2024.
The final tally is in, and the tournament has raised $25,714.61 for the Edson & District Public Library - Presented by Peyto Exploration and Development Corp.
"Once again, our community has stepped up to provide financial support to a great local organization" said Mayor Kevin Zahara. "Raising over $25,000 in this year's tournament is amazing and that money will go a long way in helping out the library."
The Edson & District Public Library - Presented by Peyto Exploration & Development Corp. recently underwent major renovations and an expansion to increase accessibility, improve air quality, and create an enlarged children's area, a reading room , and a new teen zone. this money will help purchase furnishings including accessible bookshelves for the facility.
Library Board Chair Robin Corser says they are truly grateful for this amazing donation and the continued community support for the public library. "Thank you! We now have a beautiful, welcoming space for everyone to enjoy. We ask the community to help us make it alive and vibrant with their presence, suggestions for activities, and involvement!"
The Town of Edson would also like to thank the Edson Golf Club and Town staff for organizing the event, and the many generous sponsors and volunteers that made the event possible.
